Asian Pacific American Business Resource Guide (2004)

Details    Table of Contents     Advertising Rates     Payment/Ordering    Fact Sheet

 FACT  SHEET

I.                   Rationale for the Guide: The production of the Guide is dictated by the need to simplify the diversity that characterizes the Asian American and Pacific Island community in the United States which constitutes 4% of the total US population of 284.8 million (vis-à-vis Whites at 70%, Hispanics 13%, and Blacks 12.6%), according to the Census Bureau data of July 2001. They came mostly from East Asia, North Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.

It is strengthened by the White House Initiative on Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPI), and confirmed by Executive Order 13216, signed by President Bush, who committed his administration to increasing opportunities and improving the quality of life of Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders in the areas where they are underserved, e.g., small business & entrepreneurial development, federal procurement process, information accessibility, health care, and educational opportunities for new immigrants.

II.                Description: It is 8 ½” x 11” covering 300+ pages with a projected number of  copies to be published at 60,000 in 2004. It will be published early next year— being a presidential election year.

III.             Market: A) Domestic Market – The Guide will be made available to the following:

Federal, state & municipal governments (including the US Congress), large & small

B) Overseas Market – The Guide will also be made available to the counterparts of the domestic market abroad. It includes American Chambers of Commerce in Asia & Pacific Rim, commercial attache’s of US embassies in Asia & Pacific Rim, and Chambers of Commerce of Asia & Pacific Rim.
