What is the mission of the
Asian American Business
Roundtable?
The Asian American
Business Roundtable ( AABR) was
established in 1989 to help Asian/Pacific and other minority-owned
companies expand their market with the Federal government as well as
the commercial sector by providing information that is accurate and
timely to enable them to make informed decisions beneficial to
their companies. top
What is the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce?
AABR
is an institutional member of ALLIANCE, a
coalition of national trade organizations and business associations
dedicated to preserving and expanding minority business awareness and
access to contrasting and other business development opportunities and
resources. The ALLIANCE (Summit) member
organizations and associations are representatives of the major
constituencies that comprise the minority business community and meets
monthly in Washington D.C. Summit meetings are attended by the senior
executive of each organization/association or its Washington
representative, thus assuring that the views of the members are fully
aired and that the process of consensus-building on issues is
addressed in a timely fashion.
Focusing on policy and government issues
affecting minority business programs at the federal level, the Summit
engages in information gathering, meeting with key federal officials
and other minority business stakeholders, synthesis and analysis of
issues, and the development of positions, approaches and strategies to
address the issue. When there is a consensus on an issue affecting
minority business, the Summit speaks as one voice on that issue. When
there is no consensus, the Summit takes no position, but the
individual organizations are free to express and promulgate their
positions on the issue in question.
