Key Benefits

bullet

Access to the Federal Procurement History Database (FPHD). The U.S. Government procurement is like a big pie, with every business, domestic and international, striving to obtain a bigger slice. In order to maintain a winning edge, it is extremely important to have access to business statistics, market intelligence and other key information about this highly competitive environment. This is made possible by FPHD. You do not need to strain your eyes everyday reading the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) to see if there are opportunities available to you in your Product/Service Classification (PSC) codes.

bullet

Twice monthly Electronic Newsletter/AABR Bulletin -  informing members on legislation and agency policies affecting the 8(a) program, e.g. building, teaming agreements, mentor-protégé' program, SBA loans, international trade, organizational changes taking place at SBA, among others. Business opportunities in the private sector will be featured here as well.

bullet

Advocacy - AABR's access to Congress and the Administration as well as its joint activities with other trade associations, e.g. U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Latin American Manufacturing Association (LAMA), National Business League, National Indian Business Association, etc. in Washington places it on solid grounds to assess and comment on regulatory and legislative policies affecting minority-owned businesses.

bullet

Education.  Keep informed about public policy and related business issues, including business startup basics and other important information concerning your business. Get the latest in legislative updates relating to topics that affect your and your business.

bullet

Corporate and Federal Training.  Attend training seminars and conferences to learn about which government programs are best for your business.  Find out the pros and cons and just what is needed to help you run your business smarter.

bullet

Outreach - Because of its close association and working relationship with government agencies, AABR is in good position to provide critical business information to the minority business community, from a particular agency's loan program to general information regarding access to capital.

bulletLocation, Location, Location: Being located in Washington D.C. is a big advantage. However, you do not have to be physically located here in order to access information that is valuable to the survival and competitiveness of your company. You can make things happen for your company through AABR.
