Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude¡¦and in actions.
-- Harold S. Geneen –

Dear Leaders, Colleagues and Friends:

On behalf the National Association of Professional Asian American Women (NAPAW), I would like to take this opportunity to ask for supporting this upcoming the 7th Memorial Concert ¡°In Honor of Susie Kim¡± which will be held at Kennedy Center ¡°Terrace Theater¡± on Saturday, August 23, at 7:30 PM.

Please share this attached two pages information with your members, colleagues, co-worker, friends, and family members.  Many of you may have this information already when we had gathering in my place last week.

Susie is my cherished daughter, passed away on August 8, after losing a battle with cancer. My good friend/mentor Dr. Marion Primas stated, ¡°During her illness, it struck me how much she wanted to comfort other.  She was the one consoling us, when it should have been the other way around. I had a daughter, I would have loved to have one like Susie and she was very special.¡±

Every body who new Susie was impressed with her remarkable grace and courage in the face of her illness, and in her abiding faith in God.  In addition, those who new her when she was young recalled how all her life she was a very sweet generous person, always wanting to help others.  She was extremely considerate of other people¡¯s feelings.  Susie¡¯s strong faith in God was what I believed kept her at peace toward the end.  She prayed for successful cure of other cancer patients undergoing therapy even while she was seriously ill.  If she could have recovered herself, Susie hoped to help children suffering with cancer at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Children¡¯s Inn.  We all draw strength and inspiration from her mission of love and compassion for the sick and less fortunate.  Importantly,  NAPAW donated all the proceeds from the last year¡¯s concert to the NIH Children¡¯s Inn for children with serious ill and including cancer patients.

Through the memorial concerts and other fundraising activities, NAPAW hopes to increase the public awareness of the still deadly cancers, and continue its important goal to support cancer research.  Therefore, I would like to ask each one of you for supporting our cause and the many supporters for their dedication and contributions to sustain the important work begun by NAPAW.

As know, we will be presenting with the internationally and nationally well-known outstanding performers.  Through the concert, we will together celebrate and honor gift of Susie¡¯s lift, which contributing toward the progress on fight against cancer.   Please take your time to review this attached two pages information and reply cob June 1, 2008.  Those of you wish to have more tickets that are complimentary, please let me know ASAP.     Those of you who already sent your generous gift for Susie¡¯s Memorial Concert, we thank you so much.
